Izanagi’s Burden Exotic Sniper Rifle Review
Izanagi’s Burden Exotic Sniper Overview
The Izanagi’s Burden comes to us as part of the Niobe Labs, Bergusia Forge Black Armory DLC, and is presumed to be the last exotic to drop in Destiny until the Jokers Wild DLC is released.
The Izanagi’s Burden exotic sniper rifle is pretty much even split down the spec column, with no specific spec standing above the next. As a Destiny 2 exotic sniper rifle, the Izanagi’s Burden is sought-after for its exotic perk, Honed Edge, over anything else this sniper has to offer. The rifle itself feels light, but also has a solid feel to it as it is brought to the ready position.
Where the Izanagi’s Burden rifle falls short is when a player looks down the sights. The Izanagi’s Burden’s sights have a rectangular viewing area instead of the standard round viewing area like most sniper rifles. In certain situations, this makes it hard to pinpoint enemies during close encounters.
Izanagi’s Burden Exotic Sniper PVE Review
How Does the Izanagi’s Burden perform in PVE activities within Destiny 2
There is not much to say about the Izanagi’s Burden sniper when it comes to PVE. The only use it is good for is Boss damage and it is currently the weapon within Destiny 2 for damaging bosses. Once the Honed Edge perk is activated, the sniper blasts out a single round that does a massive amount of damage. An entire fireteam of players with Izanagi’s Burdens can tear off the health of even the most difficult Raid bosses in the game.
The Izanagi’s Burden exotic sniper rifle is a must-have for anyone engaging in Destiny 2 PVE end game content. We have an Izanagi’s Burden Guide that helps and tells you the easiest way to obtain the sniper rifle.
Izanagi’s Burden Crucible PVP Review
How does the Izanagi’s Burden perform in Destiny 2 Crucible PVP?
Using Izanagi’s Burden during PVP can yield mixed results. Experienced sniper rifle users will be able to use this weapon to its full potential. Inexperienced sniper rifle users could potentially struggle when using it during a PVP match. No matter the level of your sniper rifle expertise, once you get off and land an x4 Honed Edge round, it’s going to put down whoever is in that rounds path.
At 328 damage, the Izanagi’s Burden is more than capable of a single body shot kill. In the hands of a PVP sniping expert, this sniper rifle is a very dangerous tool as it can be loaded at x2 damage instantly after spawning, pretty much guaranteeing a kill for the shooter. The obvious downside to the Izanagi’s Burden is the subsequent scavaging needed to gain additional rounds or achieve Honed Edge x4. Pair it with an adequately rolled energy slot Right Side of the Wrong pulse rifle, the Trust hand cannon, or even a Kindled Orchid hand cannon, the Izanagi’s Burden becomes a formidable tool in your Crucible weapon arsenal.

As a primary kinetic sniper, the Izanagi’s Burden does not fall into the Dreaded Venture or Bote of the Fox sniper rifle category. It lands more alongside with the Long Shadow sniper rifle.
