This week, Xur has brought Destiny 2 players another bounty of exotics to chose from.

Xur’s Inventory at First Glance August 21st, 2020

This week, at first glance, Xur has not brought anything worth changing your weekend plans to log on to D2 and fly into the EDZ. The is no FOMO this week. He does have the Lord of Wolves, which used to be a PVP power weapon, but was nerfed in an update back in July of 2019. Since then, it has not been the nuisance in once was in PVP.

Gamer Ninja’s Xur Pick of the Week

If you are playing Destiny 2 this weekend and can get over to the EDZ to visit Xur, all three of the Guardian exotics he is selling are worth picking up. If they will be of use to depends on your builds and if you use these exotics or not.

Astrocyte Verse Exotic Warlock Helmet

First on the list would be the Astrocyte Verse Exotic Warlock Helmet. The Astrocyte Verse is primarily a PVP exotic, allowing the blink movement/jumping style of Warlocks to be improved. It will enable Warlocks to Blink longer distances and reduces the cooldown time of Blink. It also will allow Warlocks to ready weapons faster immediately after Blinking, and their radar stays active throughout the Blink. 

The main interest of this week’s Astrocyte Verse Exotic Helmet is it’s stat rolls. None are off the charts, but its rolls across the board are solid. With +14 Intellect and +15 Mobility, then +7 recovery and Discipline, if you main a Warlock and use Nova Bomb with Blink, this helmet may add some positive stats to your current build. 

Young Ahamkara’s Spine Exotic Hunter Gauntlets

The Young Ahamkara’s Spine Exotic Gauntlets Xur is selling this week for Hunters has the highest rolls with a +65. That said, who uses the Young Ahamkara’s Spine Exotic Gauntlets? With other much better Exotics for the Hunters to choose from, the Young Ahamkara’s Spines this week from Xur are more of a collector’s item. However, you never know when Tripmines might be the next insider Exotic for PVP reasons. They are somewhat useful in PVP, but with the top stat Resilience + 17 and the Recovery stat at only a +7 (not horrible, but not outstanding), most PVP players will not be hugely included to use the shards to get them.

Eternal Warrior Exotic Titan Helmet

This week’s Eternal Warrior Helmet and I say this because it seems Xur is selling this helmet every other week, for the Titans has a more balanced roll. When Xur was selling the Eternal Warrior the other week, it had a staggering +24 INtelect roll but almost zero resilience or recovery. The reality of the Eternal Warrior Helmet is the over-shield it grants when Fist of Havoc is active doesn’t seem to be all that effective. So even with good rolls, there are much better Exotics to use as a Titan using Fist of Havoc.
